Fees
The Colorado Nonprofit Development Center keeps administrative charges to 9% of project revenues by sharing costs across all projects. This fee is assessed as project revenues are received by CNDC. The small amount of interest income generated by project funds in CNDC's bank account is also part of the administrative charge.
Projects must meet an annual minimum project fee of $495. In other words, projects that raise less than $5,500 in a year must pay up to $495 in fees. Projects that raise more than $5,500 pay no additional fee other than the 9% administrative charge on revenue. The annual minimum project fee is pro-rated the project’s first year.
In addition, once accepted, projects pay a $50 set-up fee at the time a Memorandum of Understanding is signed. The fee goes toward initial expenses such as background checks of the directors and registering the project name with the Secretary of State.
"At the time, we were a handful of families trying to establish a high-quality, full-time cooperative day care. The Nonprofit Development Center was there to provide all the key administrative functions, including bookkeeping, payroll, benefits administration and general liability insurance. Just three years later, Explore & Discover has evolved into a stable, thriving operation that will continue to serve the community for years to come."
